Case study - Air Hong Kong
Air Hong Kong migrated from paper operation to digital with Cathay Flight Folder in 2020. They have adopted all functionalities, including the advanced features to their operations.

Business Challenges
- Hurdle in transport and storage of paper flight documents.
- Challenge to provide historical flight data to regulatory bodies during audits.
- CAR reports and communication could only be made through text via means including ACARS, which did not facilitate sufficient clarity on the description of the situation for actions.
Implementation Period
- Internal introduction (1 month)
- Parallel run along with paper solution (5 months)
- Submission for Civil Aviation Department approval
The Delivery Team guided the AHK Team through the application process and submission. They also provided recommendations on the onboarding and change management processes.
Results and Benefits
20 mins
- Quicker in delivering new flight plans to crew
2-3 days
- Faster in the submission of mandatory reports e.g. CAR, safety reports
Through OPS Chat, communication between crew and ground staff has become faster and easier, especially with the ability to share images.
AHK pilots rely heavily on the Feedback Function to record FlySmart and load sheet data as part of their audit log, enhancing their reporting experience.
The dashboard provides a much simpler way for fuel calculation and in-flight fuel data recording, increasing the level of accuracy with the data for analysis.
The user-friendly NOTAMs display raises crew's attention to those that are specific to the flight route which enhances situational awareness.
Availability of on-demand historical data supports crew in their decision-making and preparation based on references.

Having worked with Flight Folder from the beginning and seeing how it has evolved, I've come to realize that I can't imagine flying without it. Flight Folder combines sophistication with comprehensive features, built to deliver perfection.
